Meetings

The Parish Council normally meets every six weeks with meetings usually taking place on Thursdays or Wednesdays at the Village Hall. 

Meetings commence at 7.00pm and are held in Chevington Parish Hall

The meetings are held in public and the public are encouraged to attend and participate and you are welcome to do that at the agenda item of Public Participation which is early on in the meeting. No resolutions can be made at that point but Councillors are very happy for matters relating to the Parish to be brought to their attention to decide a course of action if required.

Just occasionally matters such as contractual or staffing matters do have to be held in the confidential part of the meeting.

Members of the public and press may not orally report or comment about a
meeting as it takes place if present at a meeting of the Council, but otherwise may:
a. film, photograph or make an audio recording of the meeting;
b. use any other means for enabling persons not present to see or hear proceedings at a meeting as it takes place or later;
c. report or comment on the proceedings in writing, during or after a meeting or orally after the meeting

The remaining meeting dates for 2026:

**7(1)A parish council shall in every year hold an annual meeting.

(2)In a year which is a year of ordinary elections of parish councillors, the annual meeting of a parish council shall be held on, or within fourteen days after, the day on which the councillors elected at that election take office, and in any other year the annual meeting shall be held on such day in May as the parish council may determine.

(3)The annual meeting of a parish council shall be held at such hour as the council may fix or, if no hour is so fixed, 6 o’clock in the evening.

8(1)A parish council shall in every year hold, in addition to the annual meeting, such other meetings (not less than three) as they may determine.
